The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild features numerous mental challenges scattered across Hyrule, but few are as memorable as the celestial riddles. Located in the heart of the Korok Forest, the Keo Ruug Shrine tasks adventurers with deciphering a giant grid by looking at the stars above. Navigating this hidden sanctuary provides essential progression items that make your journey much smoother.
How to Find the Keo Ruug Shrine
Reaching this specific location requires players to successfully cross the mysterious Lost Woods. You must pay close attention to the direction of moving embers carried by the wind to find the correct path safely. Once you successfully arrive inside the Korok Forest, look near the base of the Great Deku Tree to locate the glowing entrance.
Solving the Fateful Stars Constellation Puzzle
Upon stepping inside the main chamber, you will observe a massive wall filled with glowing constellation symbols and multiple rows of open sockets. The key to solving this trial lies in counting how many times a specific constellation appears on the large star chart painted on the ceiling. You must then place the physical ancient spheres into the corresponding row numbers on the floor grid.
For the primary solution, move the spheres into the correct slots based on the overhead ceiling map patterns. The first row on the left side requires placing the orb into the fifth slot, while the second column should be set to the third slot. On the right side of the chamber, place the third sphere into the first slot and the final orb into the second slot to unlock the main altar doorway.
Unlocking the Hidden Treasure Chest
Before you speak to the monk to claim your spirit orb, there is an extra hidden puzzle that rewards thorough explorers. Stand near the newly opened gate and look through the fence to spot a second constellation chart on the wall. This new sequence requires you to rearrange the spheres into a completely different pattern on the floor grid.
To access the secret platform containing the chest, change the sphere configuration starting from the leftmost column. Place the spheres into the row positions corresponding to the numbers four, two, two, and one from left to right. Completing this step reveals a concealed door containing a high-value Knight's Claymore weapon inside.
